Boxer training is essentially the key to a happy boxer puppy and a satisfied boxer owner. Looking to learn how to crate train, housebreak, stop chewing and biting, or train new tricks? Then you’re at the right place and heading to the right direction! Boxers are intelligent dogs, and sometimes, your boxer will try to outsmart you and get his way. If he’s successful, he becomes the pack leader, and you’re the pack member. Remember, there always has to be a pack leader, and if you’re not it, your boxer dog will assume he is!
This site provides essential tips and great programs you can use to learn how to become that pack leader and take full control of your boxer dog with a simple hand gesture, voice command, or even a look!
Sure, such level of obedience is wished by any boxer owner, but how practical is it, and which methods work? These are the questions I asked when I was on my quest to find the solution to my boxer problems. I tried various dog training books, different training methods and techniques. Was most of the information I found useful? Not really.
But not everything was completely useless. On the other hand, I’ve came across a few good programs that in fact improved my boxer’s behavior, put a stop to many annoying problems like constant barking, chasing the cats, chewing on the carpet, shoes, sofa, constant biting, playing too rough with kids, and boy, pooping and peeing in the house!
The bad news is, a lot of boxer training information out there is completely useless or incomplete. But the GOOD NEWS is that I’m going to talk about some of the programs that in fact DID work for me, and I saw results with my boxer dog.
A lot of boxer dog owners ask me “Can I train my boxer without a professional”, and what most them don’t know is that you absolutely can train your boxer dog without the need of a professional! As a matter of fact, it’s encouraged that you take boxer training to your own hands to build a strong connection and a relationship that every boxer owner should have with their boxers (which so many don’t).
Professional trainers utilize fear as their obedience factor in order to make your boxer obey for a short while. Your boxer will obey because he is afraid of the dog trainer not because he loves you and wants to obey you. If you want your boxer dog to maintain a happy and healthy relationship with you, don’t waste your money on dog trainers that will never completely train your boxer. It will only be temporary and your boxer dog will be back to his old behavior in no time. You need to use positive reinforcement method to train your boxer puppy. Boxer training shouldn’t consist of any aspects of fear, abuse, harsh punishments, hitting, yelling, smacking, choking, or anything alike.
You Are Your Boxer’s Best Trainer
It’s true. You are your boxer’s best trainer and real dog owners train their dogs without a “professional”. I used a program called Secrets to Dog Training to get rid of a HUGE MAJORITY of my boxer training problems. While trying out different programs, this one in particular I had the easiest time understanding (being a complete novice back then) with a clearly written book, as well as very useful and demonstrative video and audio.
